The Yapeen Pub

looked at some very expensive arty decorating books today; the Tuscan Interiors one had the images most like what I want.
not the palatial houses of course, but the rough-edged homes with beautiful perspectives and use of warm materials in furniture places just right.

a daylesford accommodation service that has the stuff I want - interactive calendar etc. wonder if the pub will be good enough for them. maybe not at first, but once the main work is done and the garden's going, it should be, I think.

I should do a long and interesting First Post here.

but all that is at my regular blog.

for the meantime, this is somewhere to keep useful links for the purchase and renovation of a large pile of stone - no toilet, no kitchen, no septic, no hot water service - I am about to buy at Yapeen, near Castlemaine. I've been building up to this for a year now. fool.

here's a link to a solar hot water vendor.

and here's a pic stolen from the agent's site. it will disappear at some stage:

isn't it cute? and rundown? my plan is to rescue it and rent it out sometimes. I want to research its history and plant lots of trees around it. I'm fully aware that this is a fantasy as I have no time; I'm buying it because I want to have that time. it's all very scary.
