the wonders of Google. it's sniffed out the rental site and now it appears in the top five results for "Yapeen". if you're champing at the bit to enjoy Yapeen, go ahead and mail me. hey, I could even waive the rent if you want to help with the dusting. there's still a ways to go before we can open the doors is what I'm saying...

finally got up there yesterday to "sort things out". this involved simply doing what my brother called rearranging deckchairs; moving all the big stuff until it was more or less in place. a couple of years' of dust still needs removing and of course I came unprepared to clean. but now I have a comprehensive list of what's needed to finally get things going, and I have to say that with the fat couch in place, some mirrors on the walls and a marble kitchen table in place, it looks almost homely.

the garden - the half acre of paddock - is still going nowhere. in May I think I'll finally have guests there and while they're there, they can maybe plant some plants while they're there.

we were there for five hours on a Sunday and I saw exactly one car go by.
